ive nothing extra to contribute to this story, but just want to commend you on your insightful commentary. top stuff.

When comparing the movie model to massive multiplayer games the real killer is that a movies "health stats" only become available post facto. The studio suit can get the locomotive to leave the station, but he has to pray that is not full of steaming turds.

All the test screening in the world is a blip compared to the real-time aggregation of customer satisfaction that is not only possible within a MMPOG, but is in fact part of the fun.

Nice stuff Mr Walsh! Just wanna add that the premise of users modifying content once the base game/ movie is fully exploited has already been taking place. In games like Strike Fighters and Fighters Anthology, we have users who are modifying the game sto suit their purposes and releasing mods and patches which totally change the look and feel of the game. Thus the game aquires a whole new lease of life and lives on. Fighters Anthology was for example released in the late 90s if I am not mistaken, and theres still a community today which makes mods and patches with a lot of enthusiasm.

Apart from that, must commend you on some very insightful commentary! Keep 'em coming.

I'd love to know what you make of DCinema and the new possibilities that these remediated spaces will offer. Some very cool "torpor busting" things growing out of these new options!
